Hello! I’m Mardin Francisco—one of the two Mardins, as both my brother and I share this name.
A little about my background: I moved to Lisbon in 2021 to pursue a master’s degree in International Business Management at ISCTE, which I completed in 2023. My thesis focused on a topic close to my heart: "Honduran Specialty coffee into the Portuguese market" in Portuguese "Café especial hondurenho no mercado português" See the link below
Since then, my brother and I have been exploring ways to expand our coffee brand, West Pickers into Portugal. After careful planning and preparation, our vision is finally taking shape. While we’re not opening a physical store just yet, our immediate focus is on reaching coffee lovers through online sales and collaborating with local cafés in Lisbon. Our goal is to eventually establish a café here, similar to the one we’ve built back home in Honduras.
A key aspect of West Pickers is our commitment to traceability and the strong, enduring relationships we have with coffee farms. We’re deeply involved in every stage, from selecting the finest beans to ensuring fair practices and sustainable growth for our farmers. By maintaining this close connection, we can guarantee a consistent, high-quality product with a story and a face behind every cup. This partnership approach not only elevates the coffee experience but also supports the communities we work with.
Stay tuned as we bring the taste of specialty coffee from Honduras to Portugal, sharing not just a product but a whole journey from farm to cup!
